CamCon Plant Invests in New Sumo GLS Subsoiler to Boost Soil Health and Field Efficiency

CamCon Plant Sumo GLS Subsoiler

CamCon Plant has added a powerful new machine to its fleet: the Sumo GLS Subsoiler, purchased from Sumo UK Ltd. This investment strengthens our commitment to providing efficient, high-quality groundworks and agricultural contracting services. Designed for optimal soil aeration and minimal surface disturbance, the new subsoiler will help us deliver even better results for our clients across Northern Ireland.

Advanced Design for Grassland Performance

The Sumo GLS Subsoiler (Grassland Subsoiler) is engineered specifically for grassland management. Its adjustable leading discs slice neatly through turf, allowing the legs to penetrate compacted layers without damaging the surface. This creates deeper aeration and encourages stronger root development, improving grass growth and drainage in every field.

Equipped with auto-reset legs, the GLS provides smooth operation even in stony or uneven ground. If an obstacle is hit, the hydraulic system automatically resets the tine, protecting both the implement and the tractor while maintaining a steady working rhythm.

Built for Efficiency and Durability

With its robust frame and precision-engineered components, the Sumo GLS is built to withstand demanding workloads. The rear spiked roller refines the surface after subsoiling, breaking up clods and leaving a tidy, level finish ready for continued grazing or cultivation.

This combination of strength and smart design allows CamCon Plant to work more efficiently, reducing downtime while maintaining consistent depth and finish. The new subsoiler will play a vital role in land and agricultural drainage, helping to alleviate waterlogging, restore soil balance, and prepare areas for long-term productivity.

Supporting Sustainable Land Management

At CamCon Plant, we recognise that good soil health underpins every successful project. The addition of the Sumo GLS Subsoiler aligns with our goal to promote sustainable land management practices. By improving soil aeration and water movement, we can help prevent runoff, encourage stronger root systems, and extend the productivity of grassland areas.

The GLS will also enhance our ability to carry out field realignment projects, where precise soil conditioning and drainage preparation are key to achieving a stable and productive finish. This new machinery investment marks another step forward in our mission to combine modern technology with environmental responsibility, ensuring we deliver the highest standards of service to farmers and landowners across Northern Ireland.
